Because of your age, you might find your dormies immature and annoying after a while. Why not choose a happy medium- nearby campus apartments with a roommate? That way you have exposure to fellow students, but they're not all over the place and you don't have to worry about the community bathroom stuff and all night partying. There are definite advantages to attending college at this point in your life. One is that you won't take your education for granted and likely be more serious than your counterparts even if you do want to have fun. Good luck!
