Why are parents so dumb?

my 16th birthday is next week and i wanted a car but they said no ... my older brother got a car when he turned 16 so why cant i have one its not fair... then i ask if i can take the train to NY for the day of my birthday instead ,which would be a very cheap gift and a good one.... i wanna get a job and my parents say no i cant get one till my grades get better and they are all good i only have one bad grade ... but when i ask for something they tell me get a job its pissin me off man .. i love them to death and i know that somethings are to protect me but none of the things i ask for is not bad for me please parents tell me why you act some dumb and strict ...
