Question about the ending of doubt?

First off I loved this movie and unlike many, many others on this answers web site I thought Phillip Hoffman should have gotten the best supporting Oscar. Anyone who can stand toe to toe with Merl Strep, deserves an Oscar. Anyway I thought the same thing about the movie the way you did and your question has shed a different light on the ending for me. So to answer your question, I must say that I am not sure.
